Every year hundreds of folks line up for one of the most fun and exciting races in New York - the Brooklyn Mile.
Wave after wave sprint the gritty 1600 meters through Williamsburg, the course lined with drummers and cheering spectators and finish at East River Park. It has consistently been one of (if not our very) favorite NYC road races and this year was no exception. There is always such great energy on the course, between runners, at the finish line after party.
If you’ve never run it, we cannot recommend it enough. Sure there are people running blazing fast mid-four minute paces (they host multiple elite heats in addition to regular wave starts), but its also an approachable low-stakes distance for anyone to sign up for.
PLUS they have great course photographers who post free race photos, like these stunning images of Kay.
